Offshore Oil & Gas Production

Client: ExxonMobil Canada Limited
Location:Sable Offshore Energy Project
Catering, Housekeeping and Maintenance
August 2005 - Present

East Coast Catering Limited has provided catering and housekeeping services to the Sable Offshore Energy Project since September 2005.

The Sable Project, the largest construction project ever undertaken in Nova Scotia, includes the development of five offshore gas fields, an onshore gas plant and an onshore fractionation plant. Sable produces between 400 and 500 million cubic feet of natural gas and 20,000 barrels of natural gas liquids every day.

The Thebaud platform is the hub of Sable’s offshore activity. This platform provides preliminary processing of gas from the Thebaud wells, as well as gas from the satellite platforms – Venture, North Triumph, Alma and South Venture – before the gas is transported approximately 200 km through a pipeline to the Goldboro Gas Plant in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia. Gas is then distributed to markets in Atlantic Canada and the northeastern United States via a pipeline operated by Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline.

The Venture platform, second in size to Thebaud, does preliminary dehydration of the natural gas from its wells, and then transports gas to Thebaud for further processing.

ECC provides catering and housekeeping services onboard the Thebaud and Venture platforms. Thebaud includes accommodations for 50 people and Venture includes accommodations for 24 people. There are no overnight accommodations provided on the other platforms. ECC also provided catering and housekeeping services for 90 people on board the lift boat SeaJacks Kraken for the 2009 Sable Maintenance Campaign.
