Health & Wellness


The remote worksites that we serve typically involve workers living at the worksite for extended periods.

We recognize some of the personal challenges of working at these remote worksites, but we also recognize and accept our unique opportunity to affect the overall health and well-being of the people working at these sites. Through education and dietary choices we can assist those residents who wish to maintain or improve their overall health and wellness. Working with our clients and residents, we can promote healthy eating as an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Canada’s Food Guide states that the benefits of eating well and being active include:

• Better overall health
• Lower risk of disease
• A healthy body weight
• Feeling and looking better
• More energy
• Stronger muscles and bones

Improved health can also have a direct impact on attendance, productivity and safety in the workplace.

To enhance their awareness and knowledge of healthy eating, our chefs have completed the “Heart Smart” Creating Culinary Excellence program. Through careful menu planning and selection, our teams ensure that each mealtime includes at least one “healthy choice” and we actively promote these selections.

We will continue to develop additional tools and resources to assist the residents of our worksites in making healthy lifestyle choices.
